About PEAK Montessori Academy

PEAK Montessori Academy is a newly accredited BC independent (micro) school nestled in the heart of the Comox Valley, located on the east coast of Vancouver Island, BC.   We are built on the belief that children thrive when they are trusted, respected, and given the freedom to pursue meaningful work in a carefully prepared environment.

As a micro school, PEAK offers a small class size, deep community bonds, and the flexibility to be responsive to the whole child. The Role

We are seeking a passionate, self-directed educator to serve as both Elementary Co-Guide (AM)  and Administrator (PM) for our inaugural cohort. This is a dual role that suits a natural leader — someone equally at home facilitating a child’s discovery of fractions and coordinating the day-to-day operations that keep a small school running beautifully.

The successful candidate will work alongside a founding Head Guide and report to the school’s Board of Directors. You will help shape PEAK’s culture, programs, and community from the ground up.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field

• Elementary (6-12) Montessori certification (AMI or AMS)

• Valid BC Teaching Certificate or eligibility to obtain one

• 5+ years of teaching and/or leadership experience

• Current Criminal Record Check (or willingness to obtain prior to start date)

• Strong written and verbal communication skills for family and community engagement

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

Preferred

• Experience in a micro school, independent school, or non-traditional educational setting

• Familiarity with BC’s School Act and independent school licensing requirements

• Experience with school administration software and digital record-keeping

• First Aid certification
